And Yeah, No! Surge is not going to have Gender-Swap. After all Surge Maxwell was not based on Thor or Storm... it just so happened that S.Maxwell's ability pool sort of started to turn into them. He's primarily based on Slavic mythology
Though 2 or 3 (revealed and yet to be) abilities may have been influenced by the wizards/sorcerers from Dragon's Dogma :3

Wow..... I don't know what to say... I am not so happy about it though....

well all I can say is ... GO GIRL POWER ... but still even though there are a rising number of Female Super-Heroes .. making a permanent kind of change such as this is a bit huge.
But meh. To me Thor is Thor. I don't care who the character is. If I like its powers I'll still enjoy who ever wields them.
And still we have to give time to see how Thor(Female)'s story will progress. Maybe if it a continuation and not a reboot. Then possibly she'll help Thor regain his glory but at the same time retain hers
Though I would love to see how her relationship with Loki pan out.

Leiv spent the last week moving and apparently the update I wrote for Nex didnt post cause wizardy. Off to do updates now
