Maybe holy protection only protects against holy monsters then.

Stupid divine dragon wiped out my party three times. >.>

I wish rounds played out like SMT games, where everyone on your side gets a chance to go, then everyone on the other side gets to go. Cause it's really annoying when I have a move that could save my team, but because the enemy's agility is higher, they go first and kill be before I get a chance to pull it off.

Well that's what agility's for.

Well, it's also for dodging. But yeah, that would be fine and all. Agility is easy enough to boost with Accelerate. The problem is that the dragon can so easily kill your teammates, and when they do, any buffs they had go to zero.

Ah, silent protagonists. I still don't know why people think it's easier to identify with an MC who says nothing and makes no reactions. I mean, people who read books/watching movies or shows/etc have no problem identifying with the protagonist when they say and do things.

Admittedly, DQVIII's hero at least gives some facial reactions to liven things up, but still.

So, I wanted to ask, which SMT games have you played? Besides Nocturne and DDS.

i`ve played Devil Survivor

i also played a bit of the first Raidou game but i stopped after i accidentally deleted the save data


oh yeah, i also played a bit of Strange Journey (an actual SMT game) i got to the first boss but then i changed my PC and didnt restart on the new one

Oh really? Strange Journey is one that really interests me. SMT IV actually seems pretty good too.

What's the battle system for these? I've never actually seen anything on that. Just the story material.

Why is that? Cause it's still relatively new?

their are all turn based, but each with its slight differences,

in Devil Survivor you pick what attacks your party uses(for each member), and then all the attacks  on your side are executed in agility order,then all the enemy attack.The game also uses an "Extra turn system" where hitting your enemy`s weakness will give you 1 extra turn and take away any extra turns said enemy might already have(only once,cant get extra turns off of extra turns, its not 1 more)

the game doesnt have negotiation but has an auction house to buy demons

it also have a bit of tactical RPG to it in that you have to move your characters to the enemies displayed on the map to attack them(kinda like you have to reach Shadows in P3 to fight them)

Strange Journey is a bit more standard SMT, you wander around the map till you get a random encounter out of nowhere(like DDS or Nocturne) but there is a radar that tells you how likely it is to get attacked on your next step,theres also a Moon phase system and negotiation

also ,theres no 1more or Extra turn system,but whenever you hit an enemy weakness,all party members of the same alignment Gang up(all out attack-ish style) on said demon and deal extra damage,if memory serves me right, if the party member is the only one with its alignment you get 1 extra damage, if theres 2 party members with same alignment its 50 damage 3 party members= 100 damage and i dont remember if 4 party members is 150 damage or 200 damage.But its only on the 1 demon that was hit with its weakness, all the demons party members wont be hurt(i didnt play much after the first boss, i didnt get to the multi-hit spells,i dunno how Gang-up works in those cases.)

cuz emulators cant undo the processes that gives the 3DS its 3D illusion and then convert it back to a normal image you can comprehend

thats the reason there arent any 3DS emulators out yet.

Ah, I see. I still can't figure out why they went for a handheld release instead of console.

i read the article about that, it was about Strange Journey (it was the first handheld game,followed by the others) their were saying that basically, they think that handhelds are the best consoles for RPG`s since the games are long and on handhelds you can start and stop whenever and wherever(a feature that we who emulate the games on PC`s dont get)

so your gonna try Strange Journey? i might try it myself after i finish my Darksouls2 playthrough.
