Hmm. Anyone have tips on writing a good torture scene?

Where the protagonist is the one being tortured.

It depends on what kind of torture and in what point of view it is written

Well, yes.

It's third person, from the protagonist's P.O.V. He's the one being tortured. I can show you the "setup" for the scene that I already wrote.

Also, opinions needed. Which would you guys prefer: demon hunter rp set in an apocalyptic world, or magus hunter rp set in an urban fantasy world?

It's a new system, but it wouldn't be all that different.

For instance, magic users in this are known as "casters." Every caster has a familiar, which can take human and animal forms. Familiars are generally treated as servants, and treating them as anything more is taboo. That's not to say that some casters don't have amicable relationships with their familiars.

Generally, there are two types of casters - those born with magic, and those who learn it. In the former case, their familiars are generally passed down through the family. Those who learn have to get their own. Those who learn are kind of treated as second-class citizens. A bit of the pure-blood/muggle-born mentality. This, however, is the general standard, rather than the exception.

The caster society in each country has its own council that governs the rules of magic. This was supposed to take place in London, for the most part.

True. This would be the other option. It's inspired by my original idea and SMT IV. Both ideas are going to be mission/episode based, with over-arching storylines. I figure it's better this way so we're not as dependent on people to keep posting.

The Story

Little that once was, now is...

Everything changed that day.

For centuries, man has fostered a desire to glimpse into other worlds, to breach the veil between this dimension and the others that must exist alongside of it. Thanks to great strides in technology and the efforts of brilliant scientists, the Tokyo Institute of Science and Technology has made a breakthrough in achieving this desire. Under the codename Bifrost, a gateway was constructed that was finally able to access worlds beyond our own. Enthralled with the success of their venture, the scientists of Project Bifrost recklessly opened up the portal.

And brought Hell on Earth.

Demons burst forth onto the earth, turning it in little time into a desolate wasteland. Many humans died, and cities were laid to waste. The remnant of surviving humans were able to gather together and form a protective settlement - Eden - establishing some peace and order in the midst of the chaos, where science and the spiritual united to preserve humanity.

To preserve the peace of Eden, a group of demon slayers was formed, known as the Clerics. Trained in combat, spells, and lore, adepts are then required to take the Trial of Mastery and slay a demon to ascend to position of Cleric.

Training has ended. It's time to take a step toward your future.
