Upcoming Rps Poll

Well I'm biased, and although I would have a character for that, I prefer the hellcaster idea. [Which will probably need a new name by the end of development.]

I can't think of any particular development right now for something like that which revolves around plain antagonism. It'd need something more than "US vs THEM," even if it was just the angelics defending the humans against demonic things, and in return demanding control of said humans.

Oh, the angelics "conquer" but it's not like they enslave them really. Sure, the humans become second-class citizens, and there is a certain amount of "racism/classism" involved.

Well, the hellcaster idea is barely an idea lol. It works more for the novels I was planning cause that would be a limited perspective, but for the rp I'm not sure if it's expansive enough to work on its own.

Maybe something like that Golden Compass series? I think they had familiars or "daemons" or whatever.

Well I have school soon and a Meet the Firms event tonight, so I'll be busy.

Science vs Magic..... Where have I seen that before...?

Actually overcoming magic users with psychology would be fun, if improbable and hard to RP lol

I just want to add that Science vs Magic is overly used concept, but it always come to the definition of 'what is science' and 'what is magic' that makes the concept of 'science vs magic' interesting.

Science vs faith is a common theme, and it's usually just that. A theme. I don't think science vs magic in a very real sense tends to get used all that often. Usually, in fantasy, they tend to be used in conjunction.

Well, may be I am watching too many animation that has such theme

For instance, some animation showed such 'science vs magic' theme as 'Psychics vs Mage'

Some animations showed such theme with 'Mecha vs Mage', some with 'Weapons VS Mage' and so on

Another one I just remembered had the theme of 'science vs magic' as in 'mutation vs mage'

Psychics are hardly science.

Having a knight with a weapon fight a mage isn't really science vs magic...

What shows have mechas fighting mages? >.> That just sounds like a mess of ideas.

It's not 'Knight vs Mage', it's more like modern army (that has tanks, nukes and etc) vs mage

And for the Mecha vs Mage, that show had really dark story.... I forgot the show's name though

Unless the story is about magic "society" and modern society having a clash of ideals, a scene where a mage battles some soldiers with guns and a tank isn't really science vs magic as a theme.

Well Magic vs Science usually starts with the clash of ideals, or else they have no reason to fight at all

By the way, I remembered the general story line of 'Mecha vs Mage'

Mages were powerful in that show and they decided to wipe all the human beings who could not use magic and Mechas were created to fight those mages

And for once, the 'science' department was the minority.....

Well, I was hoping that if the familiar is inherited then it could be somewhat mythological creatures, while the ones who gets their familiar themselves could have familiar that might be hiding its true form or so...

I don't like the idea of people walking around with dragons and other weird creatures.

Yeah, it'll get out of control.

I'd rather keep it to things like cats, dogs, wolves, birds, etc.

Hmm how about antagonists or the villains having a familiar that is created by science or dark magic

Well that implies, their familiar could be anything and the reason why they would clash with protagonists in the rp as they are destroying the balance of the world they live in with their familiar.

And instead of using familiar in actual combat, may be the familiar could grant special power to their master or some kind of buff?
