depends on what type of sci-fi. what i like about sci-fi is the element of prediction, like trying to predict that one day robots will take control or that one day we'll reach the stars. there's a certain element of realism in it that seems almost graspable.

but when it's sci-fi that's just impossible like the inception thingy, i just can't help but not care

Fantasy has less basis in reality than any form of sci-fi.

ignoring the mind fart i had.

Fantasy is just that, fantasy, thus when you look for it, you expect a certain level of absurdaty that makes no sense, such as magic and mythical creatures and monster and heroes and gods and the like, it is a genre that looks onto the past and tries to explain the absurd with more absurd.

Sci-fi on the other hand is a realistic fantasy who eyes are set to the future. this one does not try to explain the pass, but instead tries to predict the future through scientific eyes.


it's kinda how you look for it. when you look for a comedy you look for elements that make you laugh, you're not going to enjoy a comedy that constantly uses other elements such as murder and rape.

every genre has a set of elements that you expect before you even see it. thus a sci-fi that does not even have some amount of realism loses it's value as a sci-fi for me.

where as a fantasy, since the beginning I expected the impossible, it never loses it's value, most of the times losing it's value when it tries to be realistic.

they didnt interest me but its not cuz i dislike any of their ideas...

its not like i didnt participate in Genesis Crisis just cuz its sci-fi or didnt join Grail Games cuz i didnt like the heroes you picked...
