Chat Thread 12: Unlimited Chat Works

It was meant to be a relatively short, plot-driven rp. Just the planning and the inception. We could add in some brief extractions leading up to it to get some dirt on the Mark through people around him who might not be bribable.

What I can picture in my mind is something like a bulletin board (inside the game IC) where the players pick on a mark. The final team decides on majority Vote and begin to plan the takedown. Irrelevant to failing or being successful on the mission, the returning team  can regroup at HQ or it could be a digital gathering place, and continue the story by choosing a new mark.

The initial team can be a fixed member unit and the reserves could hop in anytime when needed to aid in the mission from outside. or even joining the dream.

after the mission, a new group can have a chance  to go at another mark , with the previous pioneers acting as the reserves.

This way I can see everyone in the forum being able to have a go at the RP.  Plot wise, all players can maintain their experiences/ memories of all the inceptions they took part in and thus can use that for future missions.

Hmm, in theory, that works rather nicely. Unfortunately, I doubt I could come up with more than a few scenarios to keep that going in the long run. Worth a shot though. :0

True, but till it's not tried, we wouldn't know how successful or impractical it is going to be.

Everyone could be open to input their scenarios (in OOC) and the GM could incorporate them in IC.
This way the pressure will not always fall on the GM after every inception mission.
Things could Stay fresh as new members join the website. Plus I'm sure, if given a template, all our members will be able to come up with great and creative ideas.

I haven't searched but are there any other sites doing an inception RP. From which we could get an idea to be on the right track. Though I don't think we need to do that as what you have is Exemplary enough.

I don't believe so. I'm getting some good ideas though. I have two good missions in mind - an extraction and an inception. I also think we should have a single stat system - reputation. Certain missions require certain reputation levels to participate, and completing jobs increases reputation.

Yeah Reputation is a very valid Stat to incorporate. This also nullifies anyone making a character background stating that they should be able to take on any job because they have a cleared list offscreen.

Though the only Klink that I see in this is that this will quickly create a distinction between grinders and new or slow players.

though the reputation System can work in a way that it is evaluated on how well the team player Participated in the overall mission. this could grant some members to gain higher points and give incentive to others to perform better.

Though with this system, I also forsee multiple missions running in parallel. One in which higher reputed players participate and the second in which the Lower grade players are trying to catchup to their peers.

Definitely more than One GM will be needed to maintain the flow. Might on may not get over crowded, collapse or hectic over time.

I definitely see parallel missions and multiple GMs happening, but GMs will work together behind the scenes to come up with the missions, so only execution has to be solo.

I think there's ways to avoid "overpowering." Classes like chemists start with higher reputations since they're legit, but aren't needed on every mission. Architects are essential but easier to find, and thus lower. Also, you can have multiple characters on the board in different classes so you can work different types of jobs.

Some jobs might even have a reputation cap if the client doesn't want or can't afford an expert.

I like the client (NPC) unable to hire high-end players  system. This may remove any unjust Feelings or remarks one may have, if it was always the high reputed players (experts) getting the jobs.

just remember that we Shouldn't add to many things that it may get overcomplicated.
We should start it Simple and gradually expand it with new ideas over time.

I agree. Oh, I'm excited. I think this has a lot of potential. You want to be a GM? You can be active (handling missions) or passive (planning them) or both.

I wouldn't mind a joint venture. I might need to leave my day job but Oh what the hecK, It'll probably be manageable when this will open.

:I'm not trying to be a pessimist but Just remember to keep an open mind  that anything could happen taking inconsideration the current state of the site and its members. But I truly believe that it will be a hit in the future.
