Yeah, he's a bit tricky. Mitsuru is proving to be my favorite.

She's got nice basic attacks, but her charge skills are hard to master/do.  So, it's that easy to learn hard to master thing :p

SP skills are really hard to pull off. :/

well, me no celebrate it so~

just takes practice really, but for the time being just use the standard light auto combo if you want to special.  It will automatically use a special for you if you're at 50 SP or higher :0

Challenge mode is a good way to get the basics of a character down, but Mitsuru's challenge mode is one of the more difficult ones.

Standard light auto combo?

I think it's just repeatedly pressing square in your case, which would be the light normal attack

x is normal heavy, triangle is persona light and o is persona heavy

(it has to actually hit something to work, otherwise it will just be continuous standing light attacks)

I should try that game one of these days.

If you can get it I would recommend it since it's one of the better fighting games to start from that follow that comboish style. The close second being the guilty gear series due to how chaotic it is.

Oh yeah, I do that all the time.

I see. Well, in terms of fighting games, I used to play Tekken, but I'm so rusty now I can barely use any combos. (I beat my pro cousin with purely accidental combo moves once though xD)

ya when I started I did that too :p

I might to write an entire thread to put down all of the fighting game basics, because there sure are a lot :x

My main character is labrys now, she's a lot of fun but can be difficult because you have to manage your axe gauge because if it's too low certain combos won't work.

Tekken isn't a comboish game. It's a real technical game, so while you could have fun randomly using combos the moment you go online you'll get smashed from the people who know the fundamentals :X

Yeah, no kidding lol. I wish you could shortcut that double directional movement. :\

by fundamentals I meant how much block stun certain moves have, which ones are good for advancement with low block stun, and which moves you could punish if blocked or miss... the reason those are fundamentals is because a single frame is very important in a game like tekken. I don't play tekken a lot, but I heard it when someone was discussing on a stream.

If you knew that then ya, you did... but that would make you kind of a pro at that point :x

I did. Me and my two cousins were pretty competitive at the time. (we're the same age)

When you said you beat your pro cousin I thought that meant you weren't pro :x

well, considering he used to win almost every single match, even now... (I beat him i beat him in two matches the other day, I felt awesome xD)

I have Tekken 3 and was very good at it. Never got into the series as a whole though.

I was playing Tekken 6

I like Soul Calibur more than Tekken. I still only have SC 2 and 3 though.
