Bachelors of Science, Cum Laude! Only two chemists in the graduating class managed to graduate with honors, and I was one of them.

A hell of a lot of work.

At least a 3.5 Gpa, which in my field is bella difficult. I had 3.7.

well the general idea I have is that, originally the world was just one big continent, however one day a calamity hit, dividing the continent in pieces. Most of it sunk into the ocean.

Now the world is divided into four continents.

A fortress like series of mountains, it's entire terrain sunk and only the mountains remain, leaving the people with having to live inside.

A sunken forest. The whole land is sunk, however the trees were so large that the tops remained at the surface. It's inhabitants were able to survive by living in the trees and eventually evolved into aquatic.

A winter cold theme land where the inhabitants were cut off from their wood supply and are constantly raided by monsters such as orcs, trolls and dragons from the mountains.

And finally a desert theme land sorrounded by hills. The most hospital of the four continents.

Well, in my opinion, it's more important to figure out the history of the country. Cause then you can conform the land to the history.

I have a basic story of sorts. like one has been rulled by a ruthless immortal tyrant. another rulled by a series of clans that are constantly in conflict as they are always changing from allies to enemies and vice-versa. etc...

Unless it's really necessary, I wouldn't put in too much history either. No sense getting bogged down writing tons of backstory that will never come into play.

While it's very important to have back story it doesn't need to be oddly specific, but for the past 50 or so years it should cover culture and specifics since it will be referenced by and influence people who are still alive.

A good place to start would be to go over the various clans in power and then think what would happen if that clan was in power. Then, collaborate an overall plot through the combination and overthrows.

However, the immortal tyrant might be a little difficult since it's only one person. Is their a rebellious group that has been known for a while?

Well, look at something like Game of Thrones. There's a lot of rich backstory there, but they only mention what's relevant to the plot or characters when it's needed, such as the Baratheon overthrown of the Targaryeans or the Greyjoy's revolt.
