The cure was supposed to silence the Redcape virus, not the magic strains. As to whether there might be unintended side-effects, like some strains being silenced as well, I can't say. I hadn't considered it.

I wouldn't rule it out : o I'm not saying Mark will experience those problems, but some of those who are treated may suffer damage to their strain, rendering them possibly un-usuable. I imagine something that's attacking the Recape virus, which was designed to attack the magic strain, won't leave the magic strain completely unaffected

Like with any new cure, side-effects (especially long-term, like magic strain deterioration) remain to be discovered as time goes on : P

Right. :0 It may be that even if they can still use magic, it might be difficult or less powerful. Like anyone who could use up to tier 3 spells might only be able to use tier 1 now or something like that. Or they might just slowly lose it over time, like you said. It's hard to say at this point. The most important thing is that they're alive.

And...first we have to see if Mark will even wake up : o I mean all we know for now is that he's alive, but unconsious. He could be in a coma for all we know (not that I wish that upon him)

His body went through a lot of shock, so it's going into "low power mode" to try to recover. So he'll probably be unconscious for a while.

No, I hadn't planned for Mark to join in things. :0

So...and this is probably more a question for Nex... I wonder about Luke's motivation to stay with Aegis now that he's got his best friend back
