| Well it sets up the plot for the next movie. : o - End scene:
Well Logan is going through an airport, and opts out of the metal detector, coins and metal objects start to float which alerts Logan that Magneto is behind him. Behind Logan a commercial for Trask Industries plays. Logan tries to claw him, but he stops because of Magneta. Magneto then tells Logan of a power that is amassing to destroy mutants, we the viewing audience start to notice that the alarmed citizens stop in place. Charles comes out as well and then it goes to black.
In essence its Days of Future Past :O

| Hmm.. not much. Although Xavier's reappearance after being torn apart at a molecular level by Jean Grey was rather unexpected. I'm guessing (as they hinted at the end of Last Stand) that the "cure" developed before was either only temporary or not strong enough to permanently affect high-class mutants like Magneto.
