whenever their at a distance, the characters are 3d modeled instead of draw to make the movie cheaper

like they usualy do in anime for cars and such

I see, I haven't noticed.  I'm viewing the film for the first time and I'm not good at picking out details until the second viewing (unless I'm in a pretty crappy mood :X)

same here,but i still noticed it on the first viewing... not helped by the fact that they mostly use it for actions scenes(cuz thats were it saves the most money) and of course,you get more and more action the closer you get to the climax...

Great now I'll probably notice (at the climax now) lol

Ya, I can't really blame them, a fighting game like skullgirls is fully drawn and that takes up a lot of space and time. So a large movie like this probably costs even more then that.

it may be true that anime movies tend to have more money than anime episodes of the same length, but considering all the 3d they use in King Of Thorn,with every major scene being 3D,im sure it turned out cheaper than an anime of the same size...


then again and anime episode supposedly costs around 150-200 thousand dollars...(dunno if its accurate,but those are the sums i heard when i was in a thread about making anime)

Oh wow, that's a hell of a lot, for one episode? Wouldn't the prices eventually reduce once they have developed certain models and soundtracks or does that already take those factors into account?

maybe, the discution was about a 1 episode OVA, so maybe...

i dont know what source they used,but 150k per episode results in the 600 one piece episodes to be a 90 million dollar investment... so id assume its less after you gather the base stuff needed.

or maybe they got it wrong and its yen instead of dollars and the current rate is about 1 dollar=100 yen (the source for this is recent manga translations)in which case, divide by 100

They have to pay various employees and such, so ya, plus there's probably some sort of royalties to the original writer (or whatever that's called)

It's just pretty crazy to think that all those anime cost that much, but it's probably different for some of them

yeah, compare how naruto looks and how Fate zero looks the latter costs 500 dollars for half the series.

Ha ha, ya, fate/zero is like in a completely different category with the budget it had :p

But ya, I finished the movie, was fun to watch for sure :0 (Though, my mind really isn't up to dueling, but I will if ya still want to Prisma)
