I have to admit, your question for Kurik caught me off guard (but it's a very reasonable quesiton) so I had to go make up the answer because I hadn't thought about it before XD

I'm glad he took the question well. :0 I wanted to show that, just like with the previous administration, there are plenty of good people mixed in with the bad in the Old Guard.

Yes, I figured that some of them are just misguided. I guess on some level Kurik also falls into that category.

Misguided characters are much more interesting than straight-up bad guys. :0
