KnK's first episode was pretty good, but the complete lack of any introduction to the characters was really offputting.
 
And I won't say Katanagatari is hard to follow, but god damn do the later episodes slam you in the feels.

it's not that I can't see the hints OOC, but Lancer wouldn't be aware of what's going on in Assassin's mind, and considering the situation they're in, what he's saying sounds more like a bragging taunt.

I mean, think about it.
Logan's being tormented, and Assassin, the Servant who's generally supposed to be the most sinister is dropping lines about honor to Lancer, a Servant that usually abides by a strict code of said honor.

Well duh, he's trying to appeal to her code of conduct.

She's operating under the assumption that he doesn't have a code of conduct though. XD
So, I don't think that tactic is going to do much besides make her want to skewer him even more.

Illya, i think assassin is rubbing it wrong way, if you want Lancer and Assassin to have meaningful conversation...

It would be better for him to let Lancer know what he is feeling about his own master....

And then transit to Lancer's feeling...

Without knowing that, there's not a lot I can tweak.

yeah, i never really mastered the zerg rush either.

when playing against terran,id alway go out of my way to infest their base for extra salt in the wounds.

Imagine Logan as Berserker for a moment (not the one that's capable of logical thought), and you'll have a pretty good idea.

Yeah, I think it's a good base, and once we have an idea of what characters might appear in book 2, we can move things around to suit them if necessary.
