That sucks.
I wanted to do the Dragovian trials in Dragon Quest VIII, but then I realized the amount of grinding you would have to do would take like weeks. So not worth it. And I grinded for so long to try to beat the final secret boss, Freya, in Star Ocean 3, and she crushed me like a bug. The wasted hours...
You don't have to. I said I might.

the story wasnt bad either, it just needed to be a bit more fleshed out and it would be perfect, plus a better system and less grinding, oh andan actual good auto mode that didnt require me to go back in to make sure i dont die to canon folder.
the ending despite all it's brightesn was twisted as hell.
my whole party turned from a "saving the world" group into a "break the current one and bring a new world" with just a few words D:

agarest: generations of wars
i got this game like a year after the ps3 came out, and while i loved it at the time, the fact that i couldnt beat the "final" boss made me gave up.
i believe there's a pc version since from what i heard it's available on steam
the story is basecly generic hero fights to end the darkness and the evil lord. except it's really fleshed out with nice twists to make it fresh.
you are leonhart, you died trying to save a girl, a mesterious woman shows up a promises to save you if you promise to make a contract of sealing off the darkness with her. but not just him, a contract with everyone in his line, so him, his son, his grandson and so on. and now you and your descendants must sacrifice themselves during 5 generations to sealing off 5 giant pillars.

and then it turns out that the woman that saved you is actually a fragment of the god of darkness called Chaosand she wasn't using us to seal the pillars, but to actually release the pillars 8D
and then depending on how well your relationship with her is, she either just uses you, or ends up growing confused and terrified since she doesnt know what these emotions are

Hmm, I see. Not a very original twist, but a good one.

it's not original, but it pulls you off cause she's pretty much this emotionless being that pretty much "you are destined to do this" "you can do no more other than what you already know."
and most of the times her decitions are what you would call good
you just start to notice her being strange in the last generation cause she starts to feel attached to you, and goes around trying to figure out what's going on with her

No, Oni as in the monsters with horns and whatever giri means.
It has an anime trailer and manga :V
Best part is it looks like it has action-based combat like Raiderz or Monster Hunter. Apparantly you can die really easy too.
Trailer has too much fanservice for me to post in Illya's good prescence, so here's the NPC character trailer
Yeah that's right, there's a NPC relationship system.
Can play beginning July 1st, and if your register before then you get a few items (Just like potions and stuff, but I think you also get like 10 relation buff gift thingies.)

*Rubs Illya's head* Good neko-chan.
http://onigiri.cyberstep.com/
Just click on download to the right of the trailer. It also has character art and a (pretty good) OST for free download as well.
