That's the only one I haven't watched. :0 Wolverine's not exactly my favorite character though. I'm more interested in Days of Future Past.

But yeah, the movies seem to create all kinds of plot holes in the larger continuity, particularly Origins (ie, Xavier walking lol). But I still love them.

Well I expected at one point Professor X did walk, but its just that they made big continuity errors with mutants they used. Scott's brother being a big example

She can't be, cause Wolverine kills her in Origins. Unless The Wolverine takes place before Origins.

Well yes, but X-Men: First Class shows him getting paralyzed as a young man, which doesn't work with the contuinity of Origins. Also, the Emma Frost of the Hellfire Club (the more canon one to the comics, from what I understand) doesn't work with the captive Emma Frost at Stryker's facility, who is also a young girl while Xavier is shown to be old (while in First Class, they're the same age). Then of course there's the obvious Scott/Alex Summers conundrum.

Which red-head? Jean Grey? Or is there one in The Wolverine?

Who knows. The X-men movie story line is more convoluted than the LoZ series line.

Multiverses are very common place in comics. DC has Infinite Crisis which has tons of different Earths that have either minor or major differences to Earth Prime

I find multiverses kind of annoying, for the most part. It seems like a cop out to do whatever you want to screw with the established material. I think the only exception is VNs, where the alternate continuities for each route makes sense (particularly Nasuverse, where they already establish the Second Magic's ability to penetrate the boundaries of parallel universes).

Well think of it like a way to show how different choices effected each universe. For example the Atomic Earth was created when a mysterious object fell in a field in Smallville. The US fired nukes at the Russians and vicea versa. The universe was created because the Planet Krypton was a couple decades or so from collapsing like it did in the prime universe. I think of multiverses more like a What If scenario rather than an alternate route. : o

It is a copout most of the time. The only time when it's not is when it's the driving plot for a series, like Steins;Gate or doctor o sommat

Well yes, I do like what-ifs. But a lot of times it's used to fix screw-ups - ie, call it an alternative universe cause it screws with the canon universe everyone likes. Peter Parker marrying Mary Jane in the comics, anyone? Nerds were frothing at the mouth.
