| I've been working on writing up a new RP. I wont get into the details of the story on this thread, because I'm still hashing it out. What the jist of the story is, is racial waring for the throne, and also trying to prevent the destruction from another power trying to rule. As you can tell this RP will have multiple races that you as a player can pick from. Each race does have specialties, and also disadvantages compared to the other races, but generally you can build a character however you want. Character creation will be broken down in the following way, keep in mind I'm still working on finishing the character sheet. There will be 4 main species, each with a subset of races you can pick from. - Specses and Races:
Humans The Human race is the most populace in the world. The tend to be the most advance in technology, and also have a strong love for science over magic. They do still use magic, but there school of magic is strongest in the Arcane and summoning arts. - Races:
Nordic: The most dominant and in a way "average" human in this setting. They tend to be the best warriors of the different human races. They like using larger, more powerful weapons.
Halfing: About 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the average Nordic human. They tend to be sneakier, better in tune with nature and animals. They also tend to be the best scientists in the setting.
Avatars: Those who are blessed with the ability of the Arcane arts. Avatars are born from the marriage of other Avatars, or they were exposed to the Arcane world as an baby or while in the womb of another human race. As stated they are the only humans who can use the Arcane arts, and tend to prefer summoning to specialization compared to other magic using races.
Elves Elves are considered the most magic species in the setting. They are the most intune with the natural world, and also tend to base there own magic around the nature and environment they live in. - Races:
Falmess: Falmess or Snow Elves The most populace of the elves in this setting. They tend to use a lot of ice magic, craft there homes out of crystal and ice, and tend to see themselves as the most intelligent of the elves in this setting. The tend to value magic, and summoning to do there fighting. They do have a warrior class, but they also tend to use magical items then use there own strength.
OrcKins: OrcKins or Orcs are the most powerful of the Elven races. Although they are less populace than the Snow Elves, they tend to live in either larger tribes, or in the central Orc Kingdom, the snow elves tend to live in seperate spacious cities. Although Orcs value strength and craftsmanship more than magic, they are just as capable of using magic as any of the other elves, however Orc magic focuses on strengthening ones self, or appeasing there Gods (shamans).
Silvian: Silvian or Wood Elves are the least populace elves in the setting. They tend to be the most influenced by the natural world around them. They are renowned hunters, and tend to form strong bonds with the wildlife in the setting. Wood Elves tend to live in small nomadic tribes spread out in the setting, however they do have a hierarchy with the different tribes. They have an affinity with nature magic, and also magic involving there animal companions.
DragonKin - .:
The DragonKin are seen as a semi sacred race, considering how naturally powerful they are, but also how sparse they are. They can communicate with the Dragons, and have also gained there powers. DragonKin tend to be a race of warrior priests, either traveling around, acting as advisers to the other races, or living in large monasteries, listening to Dragons, who are most connected to the higher eternal plain. DemonKin DemonKin are the most connected to the Arcane world, considering they are races born purely from the Arcane world. - Races:
DarKin: DarkKin tend to be the most populace of the DemonKin. They are a powerful race of beings, that tend to act more on instinct than thought, which is why they are considered less intelligent than other Demonkin, and tend to work as mercenaries. Some do tend to try and be concubines for queens, since they can reproduce with any race, and birth the other race.
Hellvath: Hellvath are Demonkin who tend to desire academic power, and mastery of the Arcane arts, natural arts, and other masteries. Hellvath can be found mostly in the larger cities, working as advisers, teachers, and other jobs that require higher knowledge.
Here is what you need to know about the world as it stands, and the general setting. As I said, I'm still polishing ideas, and finishing writing the entire story. - Setting:
The section of the world you will be playing in is the most north region of the world, a land of ice, mountains, and hardy people. People tend to live in either larger capital cities, or in nomadic tribes.
Here are the major cities and capitals where about 70% of the populations live.
Beosloveth: Beosloveth is the largest city in the setting. It's where the the Emperor lives, and is the center capital that rules over the entire region. The city is mixed with all the races, and houses representives of the other races, and even ambassadors from the other lands. Beosloveth also houses the Arcane Academy, where those who are learning the Arcane arts go to teach, study, and practice magic. It also becomes a hot bed when a new Emperor needs to be chosen.
Solongard: The Major Nordic city. It has large walls, and is very military focused. This is where the High King of the Nordic people lives, also where the major generals, and the majority of the military live. It contains most of the old Nordic culture, most of the larger Nordic chapels, and Nordic epics live in Solongard.
Ironsted: Ironsted is the third largest city in the setting, and is the capital city of the Orcs. The High Orc King lives there, and similarly to Solongard, much of the Orc literature, religion, and culture is centered in this city. Ironsted is also the largest producer or Orc metal work, which is the best in the land. Much of the economy is based on this metal work.
Monolith: Monolith is the major capital for the Snow Elves. It's embedded into a mountain made of pure ice, which has been infused with powerful magic. Monolith, and the Snow Elves choose to try and stay in isolation from the other capitals, and only interact with Beosloveth.
Carrigon: Carrigon is the second largest capital city. It's based along the largest trading path from the region into the other regions, and houses most of the races. It also contains the largest market, and every race that wants to sell wares to as many people as possible, tend to try and sell in Carrigon. Carrigon also contains the largest library in the region, where books about every race and culture are housed.
- Story and Premise:
The story and premise that you will be playing in is as follows. The Emperor of this world has passed away at the beginning of this RP, and now the selection process of choosing a new Emperor has begun. The way the Emperor selection works, is by a group of all powerful sages, that choose an Emperor based on individual power, and someone they see is an embodiment of Empirical power, however they make no distinction between right and wrong intentions, they simply look to who can lead the best. When an Emperor dies, Kings, Generals, War Chiefs, all try and either try to claim the throne for themselves, or someone on there race to be in power. The 3 great powers of the region, the Nordics, The Snow Elves, and the Orcs, are all trying to put themselves on the throne, by gaining alliances, defeating enemies, and trying to show the ever watching sages the power they think will get them the throne.
However this rotation of this selection is very different. A powerful Falmess witch, who was denied the position of high priestess in Monolith, has turned to the darkest magic of the region to bring destruction to the Empire, from the seat of the Emperor. She learned dark magic from ancient beings, and brought back a race that had been sealed in ice, the Troll army. She plans to use the powerful trolls to ravage the land, and bring destruction to not just the empire, but bring the world to her control.
All races agree, she and her army need to be stopped. Even among the scwabbling between different races, they all are working towards ending her, and her ambitions.
As I said, I'm still working on the character sheet, the overall story of what you'd be doing, but here is a taste of the world you'd be Role Playing in. Keep in mind, I want this to be book one, where each book would take place in different parts of this world, with similar, but not exactly the same races. | |
