Well if you don't like the whole doctor and sick people thing, you can just look up funny House scenes on youtube.
 
And if you don't like House himself, then... well, there's no real reason to watch anything about it lol.

i never said that hercules wasnt a heroes journy:) simply that if you want to use greek myths to support your argument actually use a greek myth

Also never said tolkien invented a heroes journey but he invented the modern literary use of it in high fantasy settings

Well I found House but just to be fair I'll watch one episode of GoT. If I'm not hooked onwards to my own programs.

Any suggestions, or should I just watch the first episode?

if by ever you mean modern, sure

Yes and no. Maybe certain mechanics, but not the world. I don't generally find the humans/elves/dwarves/orcs stuff interesting. LotR is pretty much the sole exception to that.
