Noin - Bakery

Logan grimaced as he pulled the needle through his skin and pulled the stitching tight. This wasn't the first time he'd had to patch himself up, and it probably wouldn't be the last. It was the first time he'd done so with someone else in the room giving him a hard time about it though.

Actually, the silence had almost been preferable after her cold remarks on the way back. The note of concern in her voice now wasn't lost on him either. Why oh why Lord had he been given a Servant that was bipolar?

Letting out a long sigh, he stabbed the needle into his skin again, pulling the thread into place behind it. "I was thinking that once Assassin failed to get me with the element of surprise, he'd just back off." Logan rasped through clenched teeth. "Once he expressed an interest in trying to finish me after he was exposed, it occurred to me that I might be able to bait him into a trap while his bloodlust was up. I called for you precisely when I wanted to, but he had a rather unfortunate ability that I hadn't anticipated."

He clicked his teeth as he tied off the stitching at the end and clipped the thread. "Apparently, his noble phantasm gives him some measure of control over fire."

Transition - Day

Schloss Eller

Spoiler:

Calisa sighed to herself as her spoon idly dipped into her bowl of oatmeal, her thoughts far beyond the grounds of the estate that she was staring over. There were still so many things she wanted to do, and she wanted to make sure she could do them all before Jamie decided to cut her freedom off, or they had to return to Clocktower.

Well, there was one place she did plan to visit again. Strangely enough, she was looking forward to the idea of -

"So graceful, even when you eat," said Rider suddenly, appearing across from her and interrupting her view. Calisa gave a start, her spoon falling from her hand to rattle on her bowl. So much for gracefulness.

"You need to give a little more warning before you do that," she scowled, flicking oatmeal at him. The Servant laughed and dodged it easily.

"I'm glad to see you're all right. You seemed like you had a rough night," she said more gently. Rider smiled and shook his head.

"It's nothing to worry about. I've far from reached my limits," he told her. "But, enough about me. I can see you're distracted on something."

"I'm heading out again," Calisa said, standing up and grinning. "Actually, I should go before Jamie notices. Try not to let him bother you too much."

Waving, she headed out of the dining room and out through the front hall. With any luck, she'd have time to hit a few stores before making it to her main destination.

--------------------

Port

Spoiler:

Assassin crouched in the corner of the dark room, peering out like a large, ugly spider perched in its web. At the window Eames stood, gazing out through the blinds over the harbor.

"I told you not to get involved," he said icily, his reflection showing narrowed eyes. "You can understand when I speak to you, can't you, Assassin?"

The Servant made a quiet, throaty noise of displeasure, but knew enough not to let it show.

"It seemed an opportune moment, so I took the risk," he answered quietly. "Unfortunately, I took a bit longer than I should have, and his Servant was able to arrive before I could finish you."

Eames made a noise of disgust and whirled about, his teeth grinding.

"So, you disobey my orders, and then you stupidly play about instead of finish the job. What do you have to say for yourself?"

The white mask titled slightly, as though considering the man before him. Then, slowly, he responded.

"You could not have called me if our natures were not similar, Master."

Eames straightened up, looking as though he'd been slapped. Even in the dim lighting of the room, he seemed to go pale.

"Go," he said finally, turning his back on the Servant. "See what else you can find out. And this time, don't be seen."

Assassin inclined his head in acknowledgement before vanishing into the darkness.

--------------------

Noin - Library

"Back again, I see," Archer said, materializing before Jayce and smiling. "He's in the back as usual, pouring over dusty old books. I appreciate reading more than most, but he really needs to get some sun once in a while."

Despite his comments, it was obvious that Archer liked his Master. And since Jacques obviously liked this young man too, Archer was willing to extend the same courtesy.

--------------------

Fooly - City Hall

After the rush of the previous evening's victory - if only a small one - Dowth was in a pleasant mood. That was, until Annabelle mentioned how she had been followed the previous day.

"What? Why did you not tell me of this sooner!" he said, outraged. "They know our location, they know that there's another magus here, they know we're breaking the rules. This could jeopardize our position!"

Annabelle said nothing. She only continued to stare at him, as though only the outcome of Dowth's decision-process mattered.

"We'll have to send you somewhere else," he muttered, pacing the room. "I'll set up a familiar to watch over your location. You'll need to stay hidden and safe, or we'll lose Saber's mana source."

He crossed over to the desk, scanning his map of the city to decide on the best place for her to be stored safely away. His eyes lingered on Apollo-Platz, located near the bridge, as he stroked his chin thoughtfully.

"Yes... Apollo-Platz will do. Saber!"

When the Servant materialized, Dowth turned his gaze to him.

"Escort Annabelle to Apollo-Platz in spirit form, and return to me once she's established her workshop."

Annabelle looked neither at Saber nor her grandfather; once she had her orders, she simply turned on her heel and left the room, heading toward the location Dowth had indicated. It made no difference to her ultimately.

--------------------

Gedo - Church

Raphael whispered his amen and stood, gazing up at the altar. Service would be starting soon, and he would need to be prepared. But first, there was something he needed to do.

Moving into the back rooms of the church, he walked until he reached a guest room and paused to knock on the wooden door.

"Miss Fu, will you be attending the service today?" he asked gruffly. "I think it would do you good."

She seemed to recovering her strength physically; perhaps this would help to restore her mentally and spiritually.

Shopping Area?

A tall elegant woman walked in the streets, sun glasses and a hand full of bags. The name of that woman was Caster.

Yesterday was an intense day, and to compensate for that, Caster decided to relax today, and what better way to relax than by shopping, at least that's what she calculated that was normal for womans to do in this era.

So far she had mixed feelings about it. It was fun finding stuff, but just taking them seemed to lose some of it's soul. Caster shrugged as she kept walking, right now she just wants to try this new era.

Arriving at a building with several tables and chairs outside, known as cafe, Caster takes a seat and waits for the waiter. While doing so she opens a magazine and starts reading.

Meira: To Berserker/Spiriter (Warehouse)
"So?" The scene was a bit... odd. The woman was out in the warehouse floor with a radio. Dressed in shorts and a tank-top, an upbeat song was playing. The term 'Morning Aerobics' came to mind. She was stretching to and fro, making sudden movements. It was just so out of place and casual, one might miss the imaginary opponent she was lethally wounding over and over. Breaking the leg below the hip. Tearing out the jugular. Ripping an elbow out of its socket. Meira herself seemed as if she considered it a normal thing. When Berserker had gotten back, she had been asleep. Half-asleep, anyways. Berserker's return had her up in about once sound was made or the spiritual barrier triggered, but once she started hearing what happened, Meira decided it could be saved for morning.

And so it was morning now. She was expecting her servant to tell her of what had happened last night. "And feel free to draw conclusions. I never studied history. Rather useless in almost every case." Of course she had studied up before leaving here. But monsters like these? They didn't exist. Not nowadays. They only existed in stories of old, and she had no time to go digging up old tomes to read things in half-extinct dialects and languages.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Meng Yui: To Raphael (Church)
Sleep was empty. No dreams. No feelings. She would fall asleep at night, and then next it would be day, as if she had blinked for far too long. This time she was awoken by a knock, and lay still as a plank as she responded. When she awoke was the only time when she was herself. Or rather, when she was not who she was. She could think of such an odd thing only now, as "her" conciousness seeped back in. "My parents always told me to put my family before any god. ... But, I suppose there's nothing to fix what I have already failed, is there?" She swept herself out of bed. What she was supposed to do once more rose into her head. Make the priest at ease. Befriend him. Comfort him. Drain out his readiness for battle.

It was a common tactic when Lords were a common thing. Send a woman. Make them weak. Ride in and crush them. Shiyan Fu rose as an acted part once more. Meng Yui picked up the skin, shedding off any part of herself along with her sleepiness. She would attend service with the man. She would sit up front and stare at him. Stare at him, but make it clear it is the words that are important to herself. Don't make him think you're interested. Make him think he's interested. Doubt. Doubt it all.

It was ironic. After all, no matter how much conflict there was in her mind about who she was... the woman could not doubt anything.

Jorg - Shopping District

Calisa made good time reaching the shopping area she'd frequented the previous day, but all the brisk walking had burned off the light breakfast she'd had. The cafe had already opened, and Calisa considered another order of scones and that delicious hot chocolate - well, before it had scalded her throat.

As she got closer, however, she could see that all the tables were already filled. One was only occupied by a single person, however - a very beautiful, elegant woman whose flawless appearance but mature bearing made it difficult to place her age.

Calisa set her food down on the table and smiled, hoping she wasn't being too presumptuous here.

"Excuse me, but do you mind if I sit here?" she asked politely, waiting for a response.

Illya - Shopping District

Caster eyed at the voice with suspicion, right now she was relaxing so her guard was down, she knew that it was dangerous, but she didn't care. So when a voice asked to sit with her, Caster's first reaction was to look to acknowledge and then proceed to ignore. Except that the one who talked to her happened to be the Magus she spied on yesterday.

".....Ah sure, feel free to sit."

Caster smiled, closing her magazine as she started examining the woman. Waiting a little to allow Calisa to get more comfortable Caster begins to grin.

"Well this was unexpected, I wonder if you have any idea who you just sit with?"

Caster commented with a light tone, clearly questioning something, though more directed to herself than to Calisa. Right now Caster was trying to remember what she had discover from Calisa, sister of Rider's Master, treated as a tool, seems kind hearted and easy to talk with, also smart. Nothing indicating that she would know who Caster is.

At that moment Caster took off her sunglasses revealing unnatural sharp golden eyes who seemed to glow in a strange aura. The air also became heavier and colder and it almost felt like time was slowing down around them.

"So Calisa, how about showing your brother that you're more than just a tool?"

Illya - Library

Jayce looked up from the map, startled. Surprise showed on his face. Normally he wasn't one to be surprised easily, but a Servant materializing before him had a way of sneaking up on him.

He returned Archer's smile. "I highly doubt you will get Jacques out of the library, there are very few things out in this world that awaken his interest long enough to surpass his passion for books."

The young man leaned back and stretched his arms out. Even though he spent most of the night scouting parts of the city, he didn't look tired.

"I would go see him, but unfortunately, I have nothing new to report. These past endeavors were fruitless. However, I still have the port and several warehouses to check out," he relayed his results. "Tell me, Archer. Did you spot anything interesting when you were scouting last night?"

His behavior was polite and engaging in a friendly way. From Jacques he had heard what power the Servant possessed and above all, Jayce respected power.

Logan took a sip of coffee before sitting his cup back on the balcony railing with a wry smile. With some small discomfort, caused more by the binding stitches than the wound itself, he shifted to his feet from the chair he'd been sitting in and stuck his head into the flat long enough to call out.

"Lancer, I think we've got company."

Without waiting for her response, he turned back to the scene across the street, observing the two women sitting together now. He felt Lancer's presence as she moved out onto the balcony, and he pointed at the table he was watching.

"She's back." He said, indicating the magus woman from the day before. "And she's brought a rather interesting friend with her this time..."

Lancer didn't bother to materialize when Logan called out to her. In retrospect it proved to be a good decision. As soon as she laid eyes on the two women he pointed out, she stiffened.

"You realize that's a Servant, right?" she asked in a low voice, even though Logan was the only one who could see and hear her. "We'll be alright, if it's Archer or Saber, but if it's Caster, you better hope your barriers are strong enough to keep her from being interested in this place."

She stepped a little closer to the balcony and took another look at the other woman. "That's the Lannister girl. And obviously without Rider," she stated emotionless, though sounding almost a little disappointed. "So, what will you do if that Servant attacks her to get to Lannister?" she asked and looked at Logan.

Jorg, Payne, Noin - Shopping District

Spoiler:

Calisa settled comfortably into her chair, picking up her cup of hot chocolate and blowing gently on it before she looked up to see that the other woman was watching her from behind dark lenses.

"Well this was unexpected, I wonder if you have any idea who you just sit with?" the woman prompted. Calisa looked puzzled, wondering if this was some celebrity or important figure that she, in her ignorance, had overlooked.

Spoiler:

"Sorry, I don't-" she began, but the woman had removed her glasses, and Calisa found herself staring into the most unearthly pair of eyes she'd ever witnessed - mesmerizing, piercing golden eyes. Calisa felt her body seize up, the air becoming stifling and cold, as though she were being choked. The cup slipped from her hand to the table, but she didn't notice as it began to run down the length of the table and drip over the side.

"You're..." Calisa tried to whisper, but her voice didn't seem to be functioning. Yes, there was no doubt that this was a Servant.

"So Calisa, how about showing your brother that you're more than just a tool?"

Was it because the background noise seemed to have faded, that the surrounding colors seemed to have been died grey in contrast to the terrifying golden eyes, that the whispered words seemed to shake her whole body.

"H-how..." she said hoarsely. How could this Servant know about that? How was any of this possible?

The fear and panic unconsciously jolted her to her feet, and the spell seemed to snap. Calisa hurriedly looked away, ignoring the disapproving scowls and curious stares of the nearby people, and moved as fast as possible away from the table. She wanted to get out of sight of the woman, but was terrified of moving somewhere unpopulated where she could be cornered.

She was already moving toward the church before she knew it, and the thought of the stately white structure brought a little peace to mind. Yes, she would be okay there.

--------------------

Noin - Library

Archer wasn't surprised to hear that Jayce hadn't obtained more information that night - after all, he had already gotten a sizable amount earlier that day. And Archer's scouting had covered for that, in any case.

"Yes, it was fairly productive," Archer said, keeping his voice low so as not to catch the notice of any early library patrons. "I saw Saber heading down into the subway and returning some time later. No doubt he was engaged in some battle that either resulted in a draw or his victory. The other side of town was a bit more interesting."

Yes, Servants had certainly flocked to the Lannister estate that night. Archer had been surprised to see that many show up at once, and even more surprised that no fatalities had ensued.

"Lancer started things off battling against the Lannister Servant. He fought unarmed, so it's hard to ascertain which class he was. Another showed up shortly after, causing Lancer's battle to come to a halt. Then those two left to go after Assassin, who had been trying to kill Lancer's Master. Once he was chased off, Lancer and the other Servant parted ways."

Archer considered the night's events, particularly the Servants involved.

"They must have been Rider and Berserker, though... neither seemed mad."

A sane Berserker? That was most unprecedented. He would have to tread carefully with Berserker until he figured the Servant out.

Jorg, Payne, Noin - Shopping District

Caster's dark aura soon crumble as she watched Calisa walk away panicked, her hand stretching to grab her arm to stop her escape but hesitation was present.

".....Tch, was I too sudden?"

Caster scratches her head in frustration. Truth be told she was just interested in the little magus, she didn't actually want to scare her.

Caster's shoulders drop as she gives up on the matter, no use questioning what went wrong, what happened is in the past, all she had to do was press on, after all Calisa hadn't answered her question yet.

Caster's hand opens and in it a glowing orb appears. A crystal ball to be more precise, and in it's reflection Caster began to see several people, the master and servant pairs, checking to see if she was missing anything in particular. Until she found a particular pair.

"....You know, it's rude to stalk on other people's matters."

She waves off at the direction of Logan and Lancer, just before she vanished into fin air.

While all this happened the ground around the place simply continued normal, as if nothing there ever happened, no woman doing magecraft was there just a second ago.

Illya

With the first battle finished, even if it wasn't by the death of the servant Rider, Saber followed his master silently through the cold streets. It was eerily silent, as though there wasn't a war boiling on in the city. Saber and Dowth returned to the city hall, where Saber took up his guard duty once again.

Morning came before too long, and with that came a new set of issues. Saber didn't pay too much attention as Dowth scolded Annabelle, it didn't exactly interest him, rules weren't relevant as soon as the grail had chosen all seven servants. His attention flittered between the reprimanding and the surroundings. However, his attention snapped to once Dowth called him out. Saber appeared, by Dowth's side with one hand resting on his sword hilt. Saber only nodded at his order. "As you wish, Master." Saber said plainly. Saber shifted back in to his ethereal form, following at Annabelle's side only occasionally getting ahead of her to study her face.

Illya, Jorg, Noin - Bakery

Logan picked up his coffee cup and took another slow sip, considering Lancer's words.

"A Servant huh?" His crimson eyes narrowed slightly, and he took a closer look at Calisa. "But what are you doing with another Servant?" He mused, weighing the possibilities in his mind. Could Lannister be pursuing an alliance with another faction? That didn't seem like his style, but it was highly unlikely that this was a coincidence...

Before he had too much time to consider it, Calisa's cup dropped to the table, and he felt his muscles tense. Apparently, whatever conversation the women had been having went south. Without warning, Calisa bolted from the cafe, drawing far more attention than she should have.

The other woman seemed mildly put out by this, but then she turned to look directly at him. Had she noticed him watching her?

And then, she waved... Before vanishing completely.

Logan's fingers tightened around his coffee cup, and he had to focus on relaxing each of them before he cracked it.

She waved... That meant she was aware of him watching her, but it also meant she didn't consider him a threat at all. Otherwise, she would have penalized him for getting caught. Being toyed with didn't sit well with him, but he could use it...

Caster... He projected the thought to Lancer, not speaking it aloud.

"Follow the Lannister girl." He rasped, sitting the coffee cup down on the railing again. "You can stay in spirit form and keep tabs on her. I'll follow a little further behind, just out of sight. It wouldn't be good for her to see me, since I'm pretty sure she recognized me as a Master. I need to know what she knows though. Reaching out to other factions isn't a move I expected from Lannister. It doesn't fit his usual pattern. Something is off here, and she's at the heart of it."

Logan gave Lancer a wry smile as he stepped inside the flat and reached for his coat. "If I need you, I'll call. Don't lose her."

Shrugging into his coat, he slipped out the door and started down the stairs.

"And so it's Caster," Lancer murmured and moved back when the crystal ball appeared in Caster's hand. "Most unusual."

She nodded at Logan's order. "Don't get into trouble," she said with a slight smirk before vanishing completely.

Invisible as she was, it was easy for Lancer to catch up and follow Calisa. Keeping closer than she had to, she studied the other woman's face. There was clearly shock and uneasiness there, maybe not fear, but something had definitely spooked her.

------------------------------------------

Illya - Library

Jayce had Archer point out the places where he'd seen the other Servants on the map. "Mh…," he mused. "If it really was Rider and Berserker, then it's a safe guess to say that Rider must be Lannister's Servant. Judging by his character, he wouldn't be likely to summon a mad dog even at the odd chance that Berserker is sane this time…That begs the question, where and who is Berserker's Master?"

He pulled out a few pictures, showing the other Masters and asked Archer to point out which one was Lancer's Master. "You didn't happen to see where any of them were headed, did you?" he asked and leaned back.

"At any rate, I think I'll head towards the port next," Jayce said while his hand traced over the area on the map. "There's so many hideouts and deserted passages and corner, someone must've seen the advantage of that," he thought aloud and then muttered, "And probably not one of the more honorable Servants…"

Almost as an afterthought, he spoke again. "I could ask for Jacques' permission, if you wish to come along?" he offered.

Payne, Noin, Gedo - Chapel

By the time Calisa reached the church and slipped into the chapel, her fear was beginning to ebb. It seemed very unlikely that Caster would pursue her here. Besides, the building seemed to have a peaceful aura about it.

Raphael was performing the service, and didn't seem to notice her there. Calisa peered around at the other people in the chapel. There didn't seem to be many at this time. There was a pretty Asian woman toward the front, and a pair of blondes - a man and a woman - that might have been siblings, sitting around the middle. But Calisa was more interested in watching Raphael speak. His voice was inflectionless and gruff, but there seemed little doubt that he truly believed what he was saying.

When the service had finished, the two blondes seemed to linger about in the back, gazing around the place. The Asian woman continued to sit in the front, perhaps contemplating the words of the message. But Raphael had already made a bee-line for her,  not looking too pleased.

“You’d think it was a funeral service,” she said brightly before he could speak. “You have all the cheer of a graveyard.”

Raphael scowled at her, evidently none too amused.

“You again? What do you want?” he demanded. Calisa looked mildly affronted by this.

“How rude," she said, hands on her hips as she stared up at him. "You know, there should be a divine punishment for someone turning away a soul willing to be coverted.”

Raphael paused with his mouth halfway open to respond when he'd processed the words. Raising an eyebrow, he folded his arms and stared hard at her.

“You want me to convert you?” he asked slowly, evidently suspicious. To her surprise, she felt that the idea was not so bad. She'd never been given the chance to hear for herself and decide what she believed, so this seemed like an opportune time.

“I’m open to a sales pitch,” she replied with a smile, thoughts of Caster forgotten.

---------------------

Noin - Library

Archer nodded in response to Jayce's assessment. It seemed logical to assume that the snobbish Lannister Master would not summon a Mad Dog like Berserker. But deciding who could be Berserker's Master was much harder to predict.

"Lancer's Master..." Archer mused, looking over the pictures Jayce had provided. His finger hovered over the picture of Logan before he tapped it. Even at a distance, his sharp eyes had been able to capture the image of the young man.

"The port, huh?" he repeated as Jayce pulled out the map and began to pour over it. The docks did seem like a good area for a Master to set up, though it was anyone's guess which. Jayce was probably right about it being one of the less reputable ones. Archer thought back on Caster, but it didn't seem likely that a woman like her would set up a workshop in such a place.

"Yes, I think I'd like that," Archer said, nodding at Jayce's offer. It would be good to get out and see more of the city. Falling into step behind the young man, the two made their way to Jacques study, from which he'd converted one of the private rooms in the back of the library, with a little power of suggestion.

---------------------

Fooly - Apollo-Platz

Annabelle and Saber proceeded to Apollo-Platz in silence, neither seeing the need for idle conversation. Thanks to Annabelle's brisk pace, it didn't take long for them to reach their destination. Annabelle picked a small, discreet apartment complex in which to setup. The rooms were expensive, but money wasn't an issue, and mental suggestion was only too easy. Soon, she had acquired an apartment on the third and top floor and inspected the setup.

It only consisted of a short front hallway, a bedroom, a bathroom, and a small kitchen, but they were well-furnished and elegant, and in any case, she didn't need much. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she retrieved the Mystic Code her grandfather had given her and poured mana into it. Immediately, silvery mist began to pour from it, taking the form of a large wolf-like familiar.

"I am Ranunculus the Silver," he said, inclining his head in a grudging form of respect. Annabelle considered him for a few moments. He was obviously a powerful spirit, although not on the level of a Servant.

"I am Annabelle. You served my grandfather, yes?"

Ranunculus bared his teeth at the word "served," but he nodded nonetheless. Annabelle seemed satisfied, despite the obviously aggressive way in which the familiar responded.

"Very well. Then you will serve and protect me now, or I'll destroy you," she finished. Ranunculus' eyes narrowed, but he growled in acknowledgement before turning up his nose to the air and looking about.

"I sense a powerful spirit about," he said in a low voice. His eyes turned to the spot where Saber hovered invisibly, and his fur bristled.

Illya, Noin - Chapel

Logan followed Lancer's cues through the streets, walking more slowly than normal to keep his distance. Well, he also wasn't sure he could break into a run without tearing the stitches on his hip. It wasn't something he wanted to try without good cause.

Calisa's apparent destination surprised him, but he stepped a little more quickly for it. What was this woman up to with ties to both RIder, Caster, and now the Church?

He'd intended to follow from a distance, but this presented him with an interesting opportunity... Logan needed to speak with Raphael anyway. So, he could use that as an excuse to get a closer look at Calisa, maybe even as a catalyst to converse with her. At least then, he might be able to assess how much of a threat she was.

Stay outside... He projected the thought to Lancer as he slowly took the stairs to the chapel door. A quick peek inside told him that service had just ended, and he slipped through the door as some of the patrons were leaving.

It took only a moment to find not only Raphael, but also Calisa. Well, there was another surprise...

He made his way down the aisle as the two were conversing, listening to the exchange between them.

"If you're here for a sales pitch, conversion is far more costly than you realize." Logan rasped from the pew behind Calisa. He managed to sound mildly disinterested with the subject, but there was an underlying note of sorrow in his voice all the same.

"Shiyan Fu": All dem Chapel People (Chapel)
She remained seated. It may have been a bit odd, but showing them her face, even without its usual pale paint, would be much more obvious. Raphael was here to protect her from these people. She recognized them. Logan in particular seemed dangerous, he was an irresponsible scumbag without respect for tradition, manners, or rules. The woman found she hated him before this thought came to mind, as if the order of cause and effect had been reversed.

Then there was a woman. Her words and snide remarks were full of pomposity. The opposite of Logan, really. He made reckless remarks in seriousness, while she made them from a mocking tone. The Chinese woman remained seated. She'd let Raphael handle the situation.

Berserker - Gedo, Spirit (Warehouse)

Berserker watched as Meira trained, striking out with her whole body while he summarised his meeting with the three spirits. How Rider and Lancer had been fighting, although neither had seemed to go all out. His observations on their weapons and amour, although like him his master was not one to study history to the point where that would help he discovered. As well as how Assassin and Lancer appeared to either have some past connection or be ones to judge their opponent too quickly.

Once finished he walked over to where he had left his gifted sword and started his own work out, cutting again and again. Every now and again he would change the position of his hands or where type of attack. This was so that he would have familiarity with the blade the next time he met an enemy Servant as they were clearly far more common than expected.

After letting Meira come to her own decision on what to do with his information he paused, looking straight at her and spoke his plan. “Lancer is an honourable hero. I don't doubt that. Her Master is also a fool as he decided to fight Assassin instead of calling her to him. We can use them to track down Assassin and Caster, your two main threats.” He spoke slowly, as if each word was being considered one after the other, however there was no hiding from Meira the light in his eyes when Berserker spoke of the coming fights, and the anticipation that revealed to her.

Payne, Illya - Church

Lancer slowed when Calisa entered the Church. She hesitated, wondering if she should follow her inside such a holy place. However, when Logan's order came, she stopped, even though her curiosity peaked. She could sense more people inside.

"Fine. Don't be too long though, waiting is boring," she said as he walked past her to enter the church and a second later, she disappeared even from his sight.

Illya - Library

Jayce was a little surprise by Archer's acceptance, but pleased nonetheless. Originally he only wanted to extend a polite offer, but in afterthought the idea had more and more advantages. Even though the concept of backup was pretty much foreign to him, he was honest enough to admit that he wouldn't stand a chance if he did encounter another Servant.

Stuck with this thought, he lead the way to Jacques's study room and entered after a firm knock on the door, again without waiting for the elderly man to call him in.

"I hope you are making progress through your books," Jayce began in a very conversational tone, but didn't bother to sit down. "You will be pleased to hear, that we could deduct which is Lancer's Master. However, their location is still a complete mystery. Also, in all likelihood, Lannister summoned Rider." He paused and glanced out the window. It was midday, not the ideal time, but it would have to do.

"My next destination is going to be the port. I reckon the chances of finding something are high," he explained, his voice steady and certain when he spoke his next words. "Would you mind, if Archer came along. His help could be invaluable and if something were to go wrong here, you could always call him back within a second."

Noin, Payne, Gedo - Church

Raphael considered the young woman, finding her distinctly out of place in the church. She was too youthful, too bright and unscarred by the world around her. So why did she seem so eager and sincere? Could she really be seeking for restoration for her soul? Or was it something else?

Before he could reply, a rasping voice came from behind Calisa, and she visibly jumped at the sound of it, whirling around to look at him. Both Calisa and Raphael stared at Logan, with drastically different expressions - hers one of stunned surprise, and his a glower of disapproval.

"The service is over," Raphael said coldly, staring at him with dark eyes. "Perhaps you should come back at a different time."

It was obvious that he was hesitant to hold any conversation with so many innocents around. The two blondes in the back were still hanging about, looking around, and Calisa hadn't moved an inch since she'd heard Logan's voice.

"What do you mean?" she asked, trying but failing to sound casual. This wasn't the time to panic. Just because Caster knew who she was, it didn't mean that he did too.

Even without such fears, there was something unsettling about the young man. He was every bit as gruff and unpersonable as Raphael - but whereas this seemed endearing in the priest, in this other man it just seemed creepy.

Noin - Library

Jacques looked up from his studies, smiling at the sight of Jayce and Archer.

"Yes, quite well," he said, nodding as he looked around at his materials. "But I don't think you came to talk about that."

Jacques listened intently to Jayce's report, looking thoughtful as he turned his gaze toward the window. He was silent for a few moments before he brought his hand up to tap his chin.

"Yes... I think that's a good idea," he replied at last. "But I don't want you to put your life at stake on my account. If you encounter anything, Archer can cover you while you make an escape."

"Agreed," Archer replied. Jacques had agreed to this risk by taking the burden of Master, but the Servant could not allow Jayce in that position. Giving the Enforcer a nod, Archer vanished into spirit form, prepared to follow along beside him.

b]Meira - Berserker, Ro (Chapel)

She closed her eye and thought. His suggestion was a good enough plan. "Just remember to save up your mana. You'll need all of it if you plan to act away from me. You're no Archer." A blow to the heart, followed immeadiately by another one in the same breadth. "As long as they don't know you have a master, I should be safe. And the command seals... They should be enough to summon you should I need you. " Ouch. Her knee went right for the imaginary privates. Repeatedly. "And remember to throw that thing if you need an edge. If things get dire, feel free to use your true weapon. And as for your Noble Phantasm... if you use it, you'll be defenseless. It would take me weeks to restore the energy you'd use for it... Or rather, a day and a half." She smiled here. She hadn't told them what the bounded field she was working on was for. It was easy enough to discern that Meira was planning something, that she was playing defense, mirage, and misinformation for a reason. And it was something big. She summoned Berserker, not Assassin.

But they had no idea what was coming. No one did. Even Meira herself knew not. She had never used it before. She only dismantled the field once she was sure it would work. This spell... It was her haven, her asylum. She could already kill people many times 'stronger' than her. But these servants... they had so much mana, they were monsters. Once she finished... Well, the worse case scenario would be Berserker wouldn't need to worry about using his Noble Phantasm. Multiple times.

But the useless baggage would become even more useless. "And Ro, maybe you should make yourself useful too. If you can't think of anything beyond watching my ass, I could always use a punching bag. " A large swing with her fingers folded and her thumb out. It hit the imaginary victim's jaw as she suddenly finished the swing with an incredibly fast downwards motion. It wasn't something to break the bone. It was meant to rip the bone and flesh right from the person's body.

Chapel - Gedo, Illya, Noin

With both stares turned directly on him, Logan raised his hands disarmingly. "I only need a moment father," He continued, "but if need be, I can wait a few minutes."

Logan turned his attention to Calisa next. He wasn't quite sure how to handle the woman. She seemed very jumpy, and jumpy people were difficult for him to deal with, for more reasons than one.

"My apologies for startling you." Logan said, lowering his hands back to his sides.

She was obviously ready to bolt, and he didn't want that, partially because he wanted whatever information she had. It also bothered him that she was afraid of him too. That was probably a necessary evil though.

"Perhaps the good father here would be better served to answer your question." Logan responded to her. "But you might want to sit down for a moment first. I don't think the answer would do you much good while you're hyperventilating."

Illya

As Annabelle finished the transaction for the apartment, Saber went up to inspect it. Nothing seemed to be amiss, It was just a matter of getting settled now. Saber watched Annabelle as she took out the object that Dowth entrusted to her. She poured her mana into it, and a familiar appeared from silvery mist.

Saber weighed the familiar, feeling only slightly shocked that this familiar was particularly special. For one it had comparable speech to a human, and for two it had a powerful spirit to back it up. When it regarded him, Saber smirked to himself, then appeared. "You are correct." Saber stated as he matching the wolf's gaze. He was sure that this familiar could guard Annabelle, but he was ordered to wait until the girl had her workshop set up. Saber looked over to Annabelle, ignoring the wolf for now. Is there anything else you need to do here? Or am I free to take my leave. Saber asked unsure of how much went into a modern Magus' workshop.

Payne, Noin, Gedo - Chapel

At Logan's words, Calisa glanced at Raphael, who nodded.

"Yes... perhaps if you return another time, we can speak more about your faith," he said, annoyed that he had to encourage her to come again just to defuse the situation. Calisa offered him a shakey smile, glad for the excuse to leave.

"All right. Bye, Raphael," she said, avoiding looking at Logan as she left. Raphael watched her go, noting that the two blondes seemed to have departed as well, before turning to gaze at Logan.

"I believe you're aware that the rules state you are not to come here unless you seek to drop out of the competition and receive my protection. I assume that's not the case."

He was painfully aware that Meng Yui was still in the room, but perhaps that was for the best. Logan wouldn't be able to arrange for someone to break in and attack her in one of the back rooms. As long as she was in his site, Raphael was sure he could protect her.

Fooly - Apartment

Ranunculus' eyes narrowed at the sight of Saber, a growl hitching in his throat.

"A ghost liner..." he murmured, his hair standing on end. "The strongest of all spirits."

Annabelle's eyes flickered from one to the other, understanding that the familiar would never be comfortable in the presence of a more powerful spirit.

"No, I don't need you," she flatly, turning away from Saber and beginning to set up her workshop in the room without another word. Ranunculus moved to the corner and sat still, watching her intently.

Gedo, Illya, Noin - Chapel

Logan nodded to Calisa as she left. There was no reason for him to be unfriendly to her... yet.

In the back of his mind, he called out to Lancer though. She's leaving. I'll be out right behind her. Move to intercept, but don't show yourself until I get there unless you have to.

"Yes, I'm aware of the rules." He responded to Raphael's inquiry. "I only came here because you rarely leave, and I needed to confirm something. I've been informed that Berserker's Master has dropped from the competition. By the rules of the contest, as the moderator, you should be able to confirm or deny this intel, as well as provide me with the name of the Master that has dropped out of the competition."
