Creation Myth
Yes I know that myth is the incorrect word for this as it is true but I think it works rather well as a title.

Before time had a name there was only one, he lay alone with only the far away stars to break up the darkness. After a while he became lonely and thus he used his will to pull everything near him inwards. Time began to spin and after ages beyond human reckoning the gathered matter exploded in to the sun. After this epic action The First was tired and so he once more lay down to rest, floating on the surface of his child.
Thus the first dreams came to be, born within the mind of The First as he slept with his creation the sun. This sleep lasted just as long as the creation had, although now there was time so it could be measured.  As each dream came to be the Sun plucked them out of The First’s head and gave then shape. Thus were born the ten high gods, each holding within them a piece of their father and mother. Although each of the high gods has hundreds of names they are all known by their aspect; Ice, Fire, Wood, Metal, Earth, Sky, Water, Thunder, Light and Darkness.
In time the First awoke to find himself surrounded by his children, each fully formed yet with the control of children. Filled with delight the First and his brood developed together their power, till the 10 truly lived up to there names. However in time they grew bored of the emptiness of space and, waiting for their father to sleep hid themselves behind there mother and began to attempt an experiment that would lead to their down fall.
Dipping their hands into the burning core of their mother they each pulled out a piece of her heart, intending to bend the molten rock to their wills. However much to their shock even as the pieces left their mother they hardened into useless rocks that were immune to even their combined will. Still not disheartened they once again attempted to draw out the core of their mother, death to her screams even though this time they placed their will upon the loot before it had left her body.
Sadly once again it seemed that they had failed for them saw that they had failed to shape the core correctly and they all had mere hemispheres in the palms of their hands. With the anger of a child denied a top they went to shatter the hard rocks thy held. However at the last moments they each felt a tug towards one of their siblings and, as if they were possessed, they turned and watched as the rocks they had considered as nothing but waste pulled themselves together, forming five planets that bewitched the young gods.
Time seemed to hold still for a moment as the five new members of the galaxy began to spin around each others. Still the joy of a child holds no bounds and so the ten turned to look upon their mother once more and each dipped their hands in again and repeated their actions from before so that another five planets filled the skies. Still not satiated they reached deeper still and pulled out all they could reach so that they held once more five planets between them, and failed to see the light of their mothers soul go out, even though her burning body remained.
However the death screams of their mother that they had failed to hear had awoken their father, his mind now filled with pain and anguish he looked for his beloved children to find them watching the worlds they had made with the life blood of their mother. Enraged at their foolhardiness he gathered his own will and brought it down upon them all. “I curse you to be bound to the worlds that you have each made with the life of your mother and to remain there for the rest of your days” He spoke in his rage, and his words turned each to crystal and broke them apart and scattered them over the 15 planets below them.
Crying the First God gathered up the broken remains of the first rocks that had been stolen, those that had been immune to the will of his children and fused them together into a mausoleum for him and his broken heart. For even as the first words had left his lips he had requested his rage for once more he was alone and this time aware of his loneliness. So the First waited, hidden in his small moon and watched his children attempt to guide the words he had sealed them on.
Time passed and after innumerable years civilisation began to grow on the fifteen worlds and across each of them a single race was common. The children of the sun, born from the rocks that had rejected the gods will and had been missed by the First one's search. These men and women were weaker than the other races they shared the lands with. Their teeth were blunt and their hide was thin, yet they remained for with in them they held a power that no other did. They could break the binds of the First and use the Seal on the gods as a tool to make miracles happen and in this action release the gods once more.

This is the third iteration of this story, the original and second had a total 18 worlds with a central one being earth. With the first version the other 17 just appeared where as in the second they were made by a human with the powers of a god. These were scraped as I could not add enough gods in the forms I wanted and that 18 planets were too many with a low number of gods. It is also important to note the with this new method I have a more controllable magic for the main playable race, humans.

This is the real history of the creation of the first gods and of the worlds, any others in this document are false and were made up by either humans or other gods.

Interesting creation myth, though I wonder what this pertains to exactly.

The Three Plains

Any thoughts on this section would be appreciated

This universe can be divided into three different forms, each unique to itself yet linked to the other two. The first is the one that we are most use to, that of “Matter”, Second is that of “Mind”, where the gods reside and third is where those with out form live, ghosts, phantoms and spectres, that of “Spirit”.

The first, “Matter”, is the physical world. Gravity, mass, electricity, water, stars, All the things that science has a name for is found here. Animals are strongest in this what ever there level of evolution and the gods are weakest. This plain is like the earth, always taking on new shapes and forms, never staying still.

“Mind”, the second, is the plain of the gods; where ego is the defining force. It is from here that the magic of the other races comes from and it is here where memories of the dead may be found. Like the seas this world is defined by an ever flowing current, appearing to change and stay the same at the same time.

Last is “Spirit”, home to everything that is ruled by emotions and instinct. This could be the strange shapes in the old house on the hill or the lights at the marsh. Here change is slow, like the air we breath at first it appears to be unchanging from place to place yet this is false.

The way these three interact is simple in and of itself. They are all connected at all times with energy flowing between them. Although with in each of the three there are living beings to different degrees they can never effect anything beyond there plain as to do so would result in them changing into something new. However there are those who are made of two different forms, Ghosts are beings in the “Spirit” plain that are bound to some thing of  “Matter” where as a god is a child of the “Mind” that is linked to the “Spirit” whether by chance or design. Living beings of a certain intelligence are nearly always of both “Matter” and “Mind” to varying degrees. However in all the history of the 15 worlds only 3 beings have ever been linked to all three. The First is greatest among these three, perfectly balanced. Second would be the Sun before her children ripped her apart, leaving only Spirit and Matter. Last are humans, the last creations of the Sun they hold all three parts to varying degrees and thus can affect things otherwise beyond others.

This is how this section has always been, the only thing that changed was humans and the Sun being of three instead of two. This was because of how the Creation of the worlds has changed.

The Magic of Humans
Humans are different from almost everything else one might find when travelling the fifteen worlds. Although they at first look appear to be first of Matter and second of Mind it is in fact slightly different. They are instead balance such that they are strongest in Matter but Mind and Spirit are very high. This has led to them developing separately to all other creatures in a couple of points. This section looks at the more obvious difference, that of magic.
Their magic is that of the higher gods, the ten that are sealed within the lands. By having skin contact with the crystal that a god is bound in a human with the correct affinity can channel the energy of the seal in to a shape of their choosing, thus casting a spell. Not all humans can do this as it requires a high level of balance between the three plains. Those that meet the first requirement must then face a second, an affinity to the gods. Most humans have such an affinity to at least one and at most two of the higher gods and it is the seals on these gods that they can affect. As the distribution of the crystals of the gods is not balanced, instead the crystals of the gods that made a world are the most common with the other 8 being very rare, most countries have their own style of magic which is often limited to nobility due to the price and power of them. As a final note one who wishes to learn magic still has one final barrier, that of intelligence. Perhaps by design one needs both focus and a strong will to break the seal placed by the First such that years of study are needed to become skilled in the art.

The Aspects of the gods
Ice, Fire, Wood, Metal, Sky, Earth, Sea, Thunder, Light, Darkness. The 10 aspects that are linked to the 10 higher gods can be found in all plains. Due to how the worlds were made they reflect the gods that put their hands together. This can be anything to how the wild life has grown to the climate of the world, to even the sea level.
The denizens of the Spirit plain also reflect the aspects that were strongest when they formed, however it is not uncommon for observers to fail to identify all aspects that are reflected due to the way they would be reflected in the being. The range of aspects in the denizens is also different from humans, ranging from just one, an elemental, to as many as five. An example of one with three would be this. Take a forest that is struck by a thunder storm, this storm causes a forest fire that burns for a long time. This causes a huge amount of energy, some of which would spill over to the Spirit plain. This energy would then congregate till it was dense enough and they would spill back into the plain of Matter. The end result would be a forest spirit that would be linked to fire, thunder and wood.

Any thoughts on these sections would be appreciated

It sounds fine to me in terms of wording...

Either way, I liked the creation myth a lot and it's good that you're explaining your magic, I find that it's a lot more interesting in that sense.

What are you going for btw Ryu?  Any ideas yet?

The first creating chaos due to something humans did is rather simple, but that's not a bad thing.  I'm working on a story myself, and I originally started out with a very cliche story but once you begin developing and experiencing more you end up changing a lot in your story.

So, my recommendation is just go with the flow and don't worry about how original something sounds.  Trust me, your own flair will eventually take over the story if you put enough work into it.  Thus, making it more original then it used to be.

Anyways, feel free to message me if you want any more advice, I'll be happy to give you any suggestions I can.

I've read a lot of creation myths for fiction, but I never find them all that interesting. Ryu's was fairly entertaining though. I like hearing about the origins of things like magic or particular creatures in the worlds though. :0

Ya, I just feel you should be very careful with that information though, as introducing the creation myth might end up knocking around the plot a bit.

Like some stories they might have the myth more diluted between cultures to make it more interesting and diverse, which is what I like. It's one of the reasons I don't have many true creation myths for my stories, as it's more interesting to let the reader think from the context clues. (Though, I obviously have to have some sort of creation myth otherwise the concept of the world/magic might become unstable)

I don't bother with creation myths because.. well, I don't really care lol. I'm more interested in what's relevant to the plot.

Well ya, it depends  on  what kind of story your making... It doesn't really make sense with a story like Genesis because well, it doesn't have that kind of mystical feel at all.  It has a more technology feel and type-moon already has a built in plot.

Like you said, it needs to be relevant to the plot, so if the creation myth passes the plot then there ya go :p

I keep wanting to reference my story, but I can't >.>

Well, I'm thinking cause I'm making ideas for a story I want to write. And it's an original fantasy world, but other than the origin of magic, I have no real creation myth or anything to it.

That's what I meant by what kind of story your making, but what I was saying is that there are some stories where it has to exist otherwise there would be a gap in the plot.

Read: Never

The reason I posted this is because non of it will effect the main plot however it needs to be done as all the other creation myths will be traced back to this so the uncorrupted one needed to be recorded.

You can expect a lot more relevant information as well as some less relevant information to come through in the coming months. The plan is to have enough information here by Christmas that we can start the RP around the first of Jan. Yes this is ground work for an RP, I'm doing it for my EPQ this year.
