TerrorFest 2018 - Zero Escape

The first annual RPB TerrorFest is here! For the month of October, we’ll be doing a survival horror micro-rp. This year's choice will be Zero Escape, an escape-the-room game night turned nightmare.

Players will create their character and be offered moral or strategic choices throughout the rp that can decide their fate in the immediate and in surprising ways down the line. There will also be sudden death events that will require an RNG dice roll here to survive. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst! The rp scenario will be designed to get through quickly, and players are encouraged to post quickly and concisely - no need to get wordy unless you feel like it! One character per player only.

Name: Remy

Personality: sparkling, slightly eccentric, generally extroverted in conversation, but if given the choice she would stay at home all day, smart and direct in her opinions

History: Raised by a strict catholic family in a sunny state with palm trees, she began to rebel after high school. Moving away, she cut her hair, got a few piercings and tattoos and began studying the performing arts.

Previous Criminal Record: none unless you count the one time she locked herself out on the balcony and had to climb inside through her neighbors apartment and they didn’t appreciate the early morning wake up

Allergies, Triggers, or Phobias: easily scared of ghosts, superstitious of supernatural phenomenon, believes in horoscopes, gullible, fear of spiders

Noteworthy skills, talents, or abilities: dancer, choreographer, aspiring filmmaker, relies on intuition more than logic, taking no **** from no one

Name: Jacke Reynolds

Age: 26

Personality: Laid back, carefree. He takes life at his own pace, with a 'that'll do' attitude.

History: Jacke has been jumping between various jobs since he left high school, not knowing what he wanted to do with his life. At times, that meant he had plenty of free time to pursue different hobbies and pastimes. When an elaborate letter came through the letterbox inviting him to one of these exclusive escape rooms, he thought it would just be another way to entertain himself.

Previous Criminal Record: He hasn't gotten into trouble with the law before.

Noteworthy skills, talents, or abilities: He can rollerskate.

Name: Cyrus Winter

Age: 28

Personality: Cyrus is normally taciturn and muted, only becoming lively when met with someone he connects with. He is a disciplined man that carries a set of principles, but is normally flexible when dealing with predicaments. He can keep a cool head in tense and dangerous situations, which has kept him alive to present day.

History: Cyrus joined the military fresh out of high school, rapidly making his way up through the ranks. He had to retire at the age of 25 after having his left knee shattered, having been a special operations commander at the time of retirement. He eventually received surgery and was fitted with a metallic knee-cap, choosing to join a private security firm thereafter. Had initially wanted to join the fire brigade, but couldn't due to his knee. Considers himself an average civilian, enjoys many recreational activities with friends on his time off.

Previous Criminal Record: Cyrus was originally smaller than most other guys, and therefore bullied until high school, when he smashed a chair and used its leg to beat one of his bullies to a bloody pulp. Charges were later dropped. The bully was found to be on drugs at the time and the parents didn't want it getting out.

Allergies, Triggers, or Phobias: His metal knee heats up and cools down much faster than the rest of his body when exposed to extreme temperatures. Mildly scared of spiders. Doesn't like shrapnel for various assorted reasons, especially his knee. Left leg slightly less mobile than right.

Name: Alecia Daniels

Personality: Alecia is intelligent, professional and serious. A workaholic, Alecia is very strict in both her work as an prosecutor for the Attorney General's office. With many responsibilities on her plate, Alecia is often very stressed and exhausted, and can be very terse with people as a result.

History: Alecia followed in her father's footsteps at a young age, knowing that she wanted to become an attorney who brings justice and fairness to an unfair world. However, she wasn't prepared for the difficulty of getting ahead in her field, especially as a young female attorney. Despite her excellent skills and track record, Alecia found it difficult to get ahead in what felt like a rigged system As a result of growing cynicism, what began as a desire to enact fairness and justice, became a drive to win at any cost, even if it meant manipulating evidence or testimony to ensure a verdict in her favor.

Previous Criminal Record: Her record is absolutely spotless.

Allergies, Triggers, or Phobias: Mild claustrophobia

Noteworthy skills, talents, or abilities: Alecia has a very keen eye for details and memorization. She's also exceptional at forcing down her emotions to remain calm and rational, though this can often make others think she's heartless or "robotic."

Name: Morgan Church

Age: 26

Personality: A supposedly very calm and dignified man, but he's actually very stressed and impulsive if his real personality gets out.

History: Not wanting to work too much, he used his mysterious appearance and all the attention these new scary escape rooms were getting to push forward his medium business.  He would give out general fortunes with the occasional rigged guest that was supposedly very surprised about how he knew exactly about his relative, and did some research on the more superstitious town folk to give them 'accurate' readings as well.

His most recent money grabber was talking about how much he wanted to go to the escape rooms that he sensed was very haunted, and how if he was invited he would use his powers to figure out what truly was going on in there.  People seemed to like that... but he didn't expect to actually get an invitation... This will be good for business.

Allergies, Triggers, or Phobias: Has a phobia and allergy of hornets and bees, had a bad run in with them when he was a child

Noteworthy skills, talents, or abilities:  Good business sense, good at investigating other people, secretly like to believe he has a very small amount of powers as a medium (he doesn't)

Name: Pierce Ellison

Age: 38

Appearance:

Personality: Pierce is cold, arrogant, narcissistic, though he carries a strange kind of magnetism despite this. Perhaps it's his absolute calm, intelligence, and certainty in the face of every situation that makes him worthy of respect, even while hating him.

History: Pierce is no stranger to the law of the jungle, and he's used everything in his means to climb to the top. Forming his own tech company, Cyber Communications (commonly known as Cybers), he's amassed great wealth and power. He's notorious for treating his employees rather poorly, though the good pay and power of the company name has kept them on regardless.

Previous Criminal Record: None. None that anyone can find, anyway.

Noteworthy skills, talents, or abilities: Excellent poise and public speaking skills

Name: Ken "Kenny" Niles

Age: 23

Personality: Kenny is rather timid, though very friendly and kind. You could call him a shy extrovert, a very unfortunate combination that hasn't led to many friends or dates.

History: Kenny is the youngest of a family of five brothers, all of are taller and more attractive. He's never despised them for it, but it has made him very timid around them in such a way that he's managed to hold onto the image of little kid brother for longer than he should have. Going away to college helped him get out from under their shadow, but his computer programming career hasn't advanced in any kind of noteworthy way. 

Previous Criminal Record: None. Even thinking about breaking the law would probably give him a nervous breakdown.

Allergies, Triggers, or Phobias: Peanut butter. Even his allergies are unimpressive.

Noteworthy skills, talents, or abilities: Good at programming. Not much else.

Name: Luna Leblanc

Age: 24

Personality: Somewhat bipolar personality. On the one hand, Luna is typically not very impressed with much of anything, making her seem sarcastic and somewhat standoffish. However, once she's allowed herself to become interested in something she pursues it with all she has.

History: Luna was raised by a single father, who she still visits at least once a week. At a young age, she took an interest in the arts, and while she didn't immediately show talent for animations, it was what Luna loved to do. Over time, practice makes perfect though. She graduated from an arts university a couple years ago, and is now holding down a job at an animated motion picture studio.

Previous Criminal Record: Numerous parking violations that mainly stem from her inability to parallel park a car, but aside from that, nothing.

Allergies, Triggers, or Phobias: Afraid of heights. Suffers from stage fright. Also can't stand for things to be overly organized.

Noteworthy skills, talents, or abilities: Artistically minded, expert drawing skills, knows her way around a computer.

Name: Join Jotrick

Age: 25

Personality: crazy, cunning, energetic some things to describe this man that keeps his true personality hidden behind all this. Underneath he is truly a troll that loves to play pranks.

History: Join hates people when they say his name wrong, after getting arrested for assault after a man called him wrong he was sent to juvenile detention at the young age of 15, 20 he broke some guys arm cause he made fun of his name. Now at 25 finds it easier to go by the name JoJo and simply treat others of how he was treated as vengeance, only online though. In real life he doesn't attack people as much.

Previous Criminal Record: two counts of Assault, Juvenile Detention only.  

Allergies, Triggers, or Phobias: allergic to cat, triggered when people say his name wrong and scared of insects.

Noteworthy skills, talents, or abilities: Strong, knows how to handle himself in a fist fight, Cunning and uses cheap tricks in alot of situations. Loves to think outside a box.
