| I got home early... but that was because my sister is bringing her friend for a sleep over so I had to vacate my room. Which meant clearing out all my belongings, changing the scenery to a neutral setting, vacuuming the whole thing, hanging my clothes in the closet (they just came out from the wash... 8 hours or so... was going to hang them... later >__>) And now I shifted my pillows and blankets and my laptop and gear to a corner in the living room. The main issue is that they'll be spending most of their time in the living room, lights on, tv blaring, chatting away and whatever girls these days do. While I have to listen to all their stuff while sitting in my corner. They are going to use my room only for sleeping... what a waste <__< Anyhow they haven't arrived yet so I'll try to work on the post as much as I can before the piece, quiet and lights-out is ripped away from me | |

| Serves you right for giving into their demands. If it's her guest, your sister should give up her own bed. Plus, personally, I'd feel weird sleeping in some guy's bed. _________________ ~Vae Victis - The Black Lily Blooms~ | |

| My room has two beds. One for me and the other is used when my Brother from Canada comes to visit. My sister's room only has a small sofa bed (that perpetually stays in the sofa state as if opened, there won't be any room to walk) that she uses and another bed that my other brother uses.
That room is designed differently thus is not suitable for guests plus my brother won't vacate his bed.
My room is the only well organized, spacious and anyone friendly, set-up. Even when my cousins or uncles come for visits during stop overs or just visits, they are placed into my room.
But the thing is that we don't get these staying over guests that often so when we do, I'm already well settled in my state of affairs that it always seems like a hassle, going through the change :/ | |

| I still don't see why you should have to be the one making the sacrifice when no one else seems willing to accommodate. _________________ ~Vae Victis - The Black Lily Blooms~ | |

| hmmm.... I guess it's been like that from the start. And now it just feels like it sort of a routine or I am always the first choice. I wanted to study at a hostel earlier on but had to give that up for I was the only one available to chaperon my sister. My dad was always at work and mom didn't drive, The house wasn't walking distance from the school in those days, so I was the only option they had.(my brothers were studying out of country) I had to stay and act as her guard. (we did later hire the school bus service but that option only was available because I was present, they wouldn't have done that if it was only my sister going to the school... too dangerous they said.) When my sister started university, I had to take care of dropping her at there.. at least our father would be available to pick her up as the classes would end at night so my dad had incentive to leave work and pick her up. (in early days he would be coming home at midnight so again I was the only one available to take care of my mom and the house.) Now that my sister is done with her Masters (2 months back) she recently started working at my Dad's company so now she spends all time at the office and comes back when my dad does .. which can be late nights once again. My other brother reaches home earlier so my mom isn't alone the whole day but he doesn't help around the house that much. She just waits for me to get off from work and the phone calls start, listing all the stuff she needs for the house or work done at it... She does ask about from my dad but he isn't too reliable as he's always working and comes home tired. So am I but someone has to take care of her so I act like the dutiful son, taking care of everything that I am able to. I get some break when my brother from Canada comes to, then the loads shared between us so its better then. But handling work and the house isn't that easy, especially when you don't get rewarded with some one on one time with yourself. I would really love some peace of mind once in a while. And I know, If I leave for my own apartment, then no one would be taking care of anyone.. and soon the house/family would be in shambles. And that would always be on my conscience. If you read some of my stories, my characters are always on their own, their families are not in the picture. In one I literally had them all killed off by the main villain I have written one or 2 with living family members, but their interaction would be a bit scarce There was another one with three brothers and a dying father sending them on a quest so all of them get separated but unfortunately the MC meets up with his brother who apparently had teamed up with their dad's ex-wife who was the acting villain of the story .... yeap fun times Oh I have 2 in which the family dies. In one the MC witnesses the killer ending the act.. in the other the MC gets trapped and by the time he frees himself... he is the only survivor of the "natural" disaster that hit the place his family including his aunts and uncles and his cousins, had gone to visit. (in my defense, this one was a complete dream, unlike the other one which I had cooked up for a RP that I had participated in.) | |
