Maou exists because Meira ran away from her problems. She was made to be strong and determined, even if it means five hundred years and more of waiting. She seeks little else than to be that Demon King of a hero's tale. It's that which makes her more in need of someone who can stand by her side.

Meira's life is ****ed up, as well as her heart and soul. That isn't changing. Even if you took her away as a baby and raised her properly, her origin would still torture her. Her dream is all she has, and yet she knows it's all a delusion. Her nature is self-destructive, and without proper care and knowledge of it that her horrible upbringing gave, it could easily lead to a bad end.

It's really sad that she has no happy ending. But that's why Maou needs someone most of all. Meira has the bliss of running, fading away happily knowing that Maou will take her place. That the delusion she decided to live for was a reality. Maou has the responsibility of living out that delusion. Growing stronger and stronger, being the best villain that she could be. Waiting for a hero that will never come, because she can't realize that she's too strong to lose. Yet she remains determined and steadfast, an old and weary soldier with a single goal.

If I could prevent Maou's existence, I would. But if she existed, there's no doubt that she would need someone more than Meira would. Maou's is an empty life, living determinedly for a purpose that doesn't even exist.

Really, Maou dying in that pile of mud is the happiest ending achievable for them both. It's that which makes me really sad.

one could watch youtube vids to get a hang of cooking, instead of cookbooks. It is the digital age after all.

or do it like me, keep experimenting by adding or swapping ingredients to already defined recipes little by little till you get something your taste bud likes.
Or my other way; mix and mash the ingredients that you like into one or just think of eating what you like in alternate ways as to how they are commonly consumed.
