Ah just realized I forgot few sentences here and there so just edited.

Hope it was okay, as 'Han' himself worked as information gatherer and spy it should not have been hard for him to fetch some generic information of the mark

Now Han should have the address, relationship status, phone number, birthday, and etc information that she had written for the university. As well as the reason why she had Medical leave and etc.

A Pointman's job can be offline help right? Like they feed in the data before everyone gets inside the Dream. They themselves don't really need to go in with the others... unless the mark figures out that they are being targeted and then the pointman's on-the-spot knowledge may come handy when the Mark starts to deviate from their routine.

But to counter that, a Forger who has studied the mark as well may come in play to catching onto their target.

So in the end Pointman and forger have similar roles, except that the Forger is valuable inside the dream more so than the Pointman.

If that is the case then Rya doesn't really need to change herself for the public, she can act professionally by submitting all the data to her team and then just sit it out, Maybe even act as a guard to protect the dreaming team from outside interference. (cause you know that is definitely a thing to consider.. specially in sensitive jobs where the targets are aware of dream hacking and have some safe guards for protection).

Not just that, but point man also realizes the mark's action, habits and possible action that mark would make in dream

But if things are going smoothly and everything has been planned out with multiple counter measures, then The Pointman is simply an information broker.

Yeah the pointmen can use their expertise in physically handling a situation when one is needed to directly interact with the Mark. If they know everything there is to know about their target then they should be able to manipulate the conversations or any interaction/activity they indulge the mark into.

They can approach the mark diplomatically or friendly but a Forger would be more advisable as they can mask their true selves under the guise of someone the mark already knows and can trust, which eliminates all "becoming a friend with a stranger because of shared interests". And they are more likely to disclose any secrets to a friend than a stranger (unless they plan to kill the new person off after dishing out the master plan to them )

Though on the contrary, One might be more inclined to tell or let their secrets slip to a stranger than a close family or friend. That's what a shrinks job is. Doctor(stranger) patient confidentiality trust.

Forgers don't really study the Mark so much as the people around them.
